Storing a selected Archive of the OpenAllNight OPML Editor weblog. here. As of November 23, 2008 it is still hosted on the OPML.org site.

A Search And Go article that answered a question I had about web page DTD [ Document Type Definition ].

It has been a few days since the last post. I may need to change the name from ‘Open All Night’, to ‘WeakEnding’, or ‘Saturday Blog’.

Cited: ‘Saturday Blog’: here is a post back in 2001.

Yet Another Saturday Blog. I don’t think that I would be in favor of voting nonactive bloggers off if we had some way to tell when they posted.

Donovan is updating his OPML blog. His Cloud Atlas is once again Donovan’s thoughtStream. “Sunshine came softly through my a-window today”, and I am looking forward to new travel pics from Sprocket. Stay tuned at the thought stream to find out what’s in his backpack, and how he works – virtually.

I like opmlPete’s idea of bottom feeding [assume on share.opml.org]:

“How about The Bottom 100? I’m not interested in seeing sites that everyone is subscribed to. I want to see the feeds very few people subscribe to. But by following links to which only 1 person is subscribed I’ve found some very interesting sites. ‘This is where the gold is.”

Jesus’ Favorite on how Firsts Hurt.

In “the post in which there is so much trauma that you may need to blink more often than usual”, BlogCabin says “I sneezed with a mint in my mouth and it shot over the wall of my cubicle. I don’t know where the mint landed.”

Cited: The RSS Blog’s ‘My Top 10 Blogging Tools’ “Google Blog Search and IceRocket – This is how I find stuff. I can never figure out why people continue to use Technorati, PubSub and Feedster, which IMHO are severaly broken.”

BurningBird’s final flight? Shelley was one of the earliest publishers in the weblog format, and will certainly be missed!

Structured Blogging plugins for WordPress and Movable Type. “The difference between a typical blog post and a structured entry is that the Structured Blogging content is published in machine-readable format, so that other services can understand it. Indeed it builds on RSS and Atom standards.”

Hey Donovan, is ‘Sprocket’ the one taking all those great photos? If so, Sprocket needs a raise.

Phil Sim says OPML won’t catch on.

Cited: under “Public eavesdropping” on a Leah Garchik column in the SF Chronicle: “Why would I read your blog? I don’t even like talking to you.”

I am convinced. I do NOT like Feedburner. My idea of a feed is to quickly read information. Hopefully the feed information is mostly PLAIN text, and damn fast loading. I like to check out feeds while I am browsing, so I use an addon in Firefox.

If I have to wait for a bunch of pageflakes and flickr stuff to load, then that feed is not for me. Feedburner feeds come with so much baggage and they often take way too long to display. Bah! I was frustrated and ranting here. I am over it now, thanks.
