“People at home generally want to use an OS compatible with what they use at work. Linux isn’t at work, so it isn’t at home.”

Do you support OPML?

Currently ZapTXT supports building OPML from RSS feeds that other ZapTXT users have added and tagged. Support for external OPML will be added soon.

Why would I want to use OPML with ZapTXT?
If you want to monitor and filter several RSS feeds with the same keywords, you can define your search criteria for a single OPML and all feeds in the file will “inherit” the search criteria. If ZapTXT didn’t support OPML, you would have to define search criteria for each feed individuallly.

Do you support OPML filtering?
Yes. You can define search criteria for OPML just like you do for individual ZapTasks.

What happens when I define search criteria for OPML?
When you define search criteria and any other attributes (delivery frequency and method) for OPML, every feed in the OPML will “inherit” the search criteria and attributes.

Can I define search criteria for individual feeds in an OPML?
Yes. ZapTXT OPML support is very flexible. You can define search criteria for individual feeds in an OPML.

No News!
I have not been able to get NewsRiver to update the last few days. The last it worked was last Thursday or Friday I think. It would scan ok, but it picked up ziltch new posts. Since I was having other issues with a half update that left me with two NewsRiver Menu selections, I decided to start from scratch with the latest zip. I could not get the zip to re-register successfully at first.

After much trial and error I got it going with (Version 0.69), my original registration information, and a NEW sub-domain directory. I had recently updated to Version 0.71 on 7/22 and maybe did an update once again since then. Was that an issue? I am not sure, since NewsRiver was working for at least a few days after.

Since there is a new local directory structure for www now, I had to save copies of my original blogroll, template, and subscriptions in the OPML Editor again. Seems there is a syncing issue I am missing, especially with blogroll. Bottom line, I am back on the River, and wishin’ and hopin’ for static rendering to show up.

Grief
I was so sad to read about the grief that has hit Donovan and the Go! Team. As the divide between the haves and the have nots in this country grows wider, many have experienced this ‘loss of faith in humanity’. This is an all too familiar story. Sorry Donovan.
