Hammering the latest OPML Editor code updates:
This time I started with the previous Birdie version of the Opml Editor zip. Synchronize files finally worked! And I was able to start posting at the opml blog site again.
Updated to the latest code via File, Update Opml.root. Restarted the editor. I still get intermittent page faults on exiting the editor, but did with previous versions as well. [Win98 testbed]
On restart the Editor image updated to the “Accordion Guy”. Good.
Installed and testing new and updated tools. Select Misc tab, Tool Catalog to bring up a list of tools you can install.
WordPress Tool – working fine. The only issue I have encountered with this latest fresh install, is that the WordPress Preferences page does not auto-load after installing the tool. Instead we see Opml Editor prefs page. The last time I installed, I was able to get to the WordPress Tool prefs page by installing the tool, then restarting Opml Editor and selecting Tools, WordPress, Preferences. Strangely, that does not work now. I manually updated the prefs table info.
HowTo Tool – tested fine in mid-November. Could not retrieve my previous test howTo’s since this latest fresh install on different PC. Found this was due to Firewall restrictions. Is there a way to delete or rename documents?
Podcatcher Tool – Installed. The default subscriptions were too many/too large to wait for downloads. Did not seem to remember my unsubs of defaults? Deleted this tool from Opml, Guest Databases, apps, Tools directory ~ more testing later.
Photofan Tool – Installed. The default subscriptions were too many/too large to wait for downloads. Deleted this tool from Opml, Guest Databases, apps, Tools directory ~ more testing later.
Also checking other functional code updates and testing via Menu or bundled test code.
Community Menu – after code updates it moved to the Tools menu. So far, so good.
NewsRiver Menu – after code updates it moved to the Tools menu. So far, so good.
Post to Identica – [No menu tool yet, but test code works]
Post to FriendFeed – [No menu tool yet, but test code works]. We knew it would!
